Royal Automobile Club Associate / Auto Cycle Union badge 2.6” Diameter (66 mm) Numbered 488, it dates from around 1909. Having the distinctive longer Orb on top of the Crown. this example issued in Nickel Silver but has been painted silver at some time. Note the typical narrow tang, distinctive of many early Motor Cycle badges and the crude lettering. The A.C.U. was formed in 1903 as the Auto Cycle Club, changing it’s name around 1908.
