The L E Velo Club. (Vellocette) The Silent Motor Cycle. I came face to face with one of these machines. I was on my way up to Prees Heath racing circuit on my solo Triumph Tiger 100, oil had leaked onto the back wheel and on a bend not too far from my destination the bike went from underneath me. It slid across the road throwing me backwards onto a grass verge. The Law in the shape of the local Bobby arrived on his standard police issue LE Velo and although I was still lay on the ground the regestration number of TNT - - - had me in stiches. The LE apart from a BSA Bantam was the furthest thing away from what TNT represented. My passenger Ray Salisbury was I am happy to say, not injured.
