Steel Company of Wales. (Welsh) Velindre Works Motor Club. 4.25” tall (109mm) Manufactured by Renamel of London, centre part in resin and having the Crown and “R” on the front of the tang of the tang. The Velindre works were commissioned in 1956. In it's heyday the Velindre Works employed more than 2000 and it was considered to be the 'jewel in the crown' in British Steel. The beginning of the end of the steel works at Velindre came in 1981. c 1960’s early 1970's.
