Automobile Association Stenson Cooke Car Badge Also known as a "Frying pan" type because of the shape. 150 mm (6") tall Numbered 18165 this badge dates from late 1909 to early 1910 On the reverse is "Telephone 4128 Central" and "Telegrams Fanum London" Around the number 22000 number the Telephone number changed to Mayfair 1430 and around another 5000 were issued. Stenson Cooke badges were manufactured in brass or nickel Silver. This particular badge has been chromed in later life, quite a common occurrence after chroming was introduced in 1927
