After the amalgamation with the Motor Union in 1910 a new badge design appeared in 1911. Manufactured in Brass or Nickle Silver, this version was known as the "1911" badge 168 mm (6.5") tall A marriage between the AA Stenson Cooke and the taller Motor Union badge took place, the wings at the top being a Motor Union reply to a suggestion of them having copied the AA badge a few years earlier. Numbering started around 30,000 (my earliest recorded being 34352 in Nickel and still having the "Mayfair 1430" telephone number At around number 60,000 the telephone number was changed to "Regent 300" Numbers reached around 250,000 just before the 1914-18 War started The "1911" type numbered from 30,000 to 140,000 Then from 210,000 to around 250,000 Making a production of some 150,00 badges
