Royal Automobile Club Centenary 1897-1997 Badge. 120 mm (4.75") tall Manufactured in chromed on white metal. This is the first RAC badge to bear the Queen's portrait on. Cost £29.95 and said to be only available in the Centenary year and limited to two badges per Full Member, thought to be available as an alternative to the MCE type because of the unexpectedly low take up, for around the next two years. Also available was a larger 155 mm (6.2") tall badge, manufactured in Solid brass, having a Union flag on the reverse and a plinth mounting. Costing £175.00 in the Centenary year.
