Cornwall Car Badge

Cornwall. Manufactured in Resin and having a Stainless backing plate, by Renamel of London from the early 60’s until 1974 when the County Boundaries of England were changed. This badge can also be found with a Blue and a Green background. Centre of the Shield shows 15 Bezants (and I used to think they were cannon balls) in an inverted "pile". The golden roundels are from the arms of the Duchy of Cornwall. The border of blue and white wavy lines (barry wavy of eight lines) is appropiate to a County almost surrounded by the Sea. The Crest on top of the shield shows a Chough (member of the Crow family) standing on a coloured wreath and resting his claw on a Gold coloured Ducal Coronet.
